A native and lifelong east Texan, Tommy Brown was raised in Longview and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University, in Nacogdoches, TX.
He is the Director of Member Relations at Wood County Electric Cooperative. For almost 26 years, Brown has worked there in various roles to include: member relations, power quality and key accounts. In that time, he’s administered the power quality/lightning protection program and the Great Rebate energy efficiency program. His primary area of responsibility has been to help power users gain efficiencies and to ensure reliability based on needs. He also performs the initial assessment for new business construction. At regional schools, Brown also conducts educational programs to teach students electrical safety.
In his spare time, he’s served as an assistant scout master with the Boy Scouts of America and he’s a long-time member of the Flora Masonic Lodge. Brown has also functioned as a board member for the Greater Quitman Area of Chamber of Commerce. A member of the Rotary Club of Quitman, he has also acted in various officer positions such as Vice President and President. Brown is a past board member of the Court Appointed Special Advocates for Kids of East Texas.
Brown, and his wife, of 26 years, Jill, are members of Smith Chapel Methodist Church in Mineola. They are the proud parents of one son, Austin.
